Course overview

Our Mastering Microsoft Copilot course is designed to help learners get the most out of Copilot across Microsoft 365.

Through short videos, interactive moments, and real‑world examples, learners explore what Copilot can do, how it shows up in tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, and how it can boost everyday productivity. Learners also get hands‑on practice with writing effective prompts, reviewing AI‑generated outputs, and using Copilot to tackle common business tasks with more confidence.

The course also places strong emphasis on using AI responsibly. Learners explore data protection, accuracy considerations, and simple habits for checking and refining outputs. By the end, they’ll feel equipped with the skills and confidence to use Copilot thoughtfully, securely and effectively in their day-to-day work.

Topics covered

The course is structured into five modules that build from foundational understanding to practical application:

  • Introduction to Microsoft Copilot
  • Effective Prompting Techniques
  • Secure and Responsible AI Use
  • Copilot in Action
  • Best Practices and Productivity Strategies

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course, learners will have a solid understanding of what Microsoft Copilot is, how it fits into the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, and where it can add real value to everyday work. They’ll be able to recognise the key productivity benefits it offers across tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, and feel confident using it to support common workplace tasks.

Learners will also build practical prompting skills, including how to write clear, effective prompts using simple structures like the CLEAR framework. They’ll get hands‑on experience using Copilot for tasks such as:

  • Drafting emails and documents
  • Analysing data
  • Shaping presentations

Just as importantly, learners will develop the judgement needed to use AI responsibly. They’ll know how to review and verify AI‑generated outputs, understand risks like misinformation, bias, and data security concerns, and apply good practices when dealing with sensitive or confidential information.

By the end of the course, each learner will walk away with a personal strategy for bringing Copilot into their daily workflow, helping them work more efficiently, consistently, and confidently.
