CAPSLOCK was founded in 2019 with a clear and simple belief: the cyber security industry needed new routes in, and education had to change to meet the reality of an increasingly digital world. Built by leaders with deep experience across cyber security, academia and industry, CAPSLOCK was created to challenge traditional barriers to entry and open up opportunities for people from all backgrounds.
After years of designing and delivering recognised cyber security programmes, our founders saw too many talented people excluded by academic requirements, financial constraints and narrow definitions of who belonged in tech. CAPSLOCK was created to do things differently, by combining real‑world industry insight with practical, inclusive education that focuses on potential, not privileged starting points.
We launched our first learner cohort in 2021, delivering an approach grounded in hands‑on, team‑based learning that reflects how cyber security actually works in practice. Since then, we’ve supported over 1,300 learners to build new skills, confidence and careers, while working closely with employers to strengthen the UK’s cyber workforce.
Today, CAPSLOCK partners with individuals, organisations and industry leaders to deliver award‑winning training that changes lives and strengthens national cyber resilience. From reskilling adults into new careers, to upskilling teams and developing diverse talent pipelines, our story continues to be shaped by one goal: creating meaningful opportunity while building a stronger, more inclusive future for cyber security.
