CAPSLOCK alumni: Will’s journey into cyber security

Will never imagined himself working in cyber security. Without experience and without a clear career path, he assumed it wasn’t an option for him. Will was unsure of his next step - until he started exploring a cyber security course.

After researching providers, CAPSLOCK stood out. The syllabus was comprehensive, the support felt genuine, and the pre‑course work proved that this path was possible. For the first time, he felt excited about the idea of a future in cyber.

The programme wasn’t always easy.

Within a week of graduating, Will secured a role as a Junior Information Security Analyst at a fractional CISO consultancy. His new job is varied, fast‑paced, and full of responsibility; from helping clients pass audits to reviewing policies and building security processes.

And it didn’t just transform his career.

Because the role is remote and flexible, Will was able to relocate - and even buy his first house.

“It’s been back‑to‑back good things,” he said. “Finishing the course, getting the job, getting the mortgage. I’m so grateful - I never would’ve had this opportunity without CAPSLOCK."

Today, Will is thriving professionally and personally. His work blends cyber security, consultancy, communication, and even marketing. He’s found direction, confidence, and a career he genuinely enjoys.
