“This time last year I was a home-schooling homemaker and struggling to access remedial IT courses. Now, I work with innovative training providers and create my own training & awareness content, and I support both defensive security and governance teams with their projects. I get to tell people I am a cyber security consultant for a global law firm, which makes me super proud.”
"I was drawn to CAPSLOCK because they are trying to break down barriers to cyber security that may be present due to a lack of a university degree. They are offering people a chance to showcase life skills and experience instead. All of the CAPSLOCK tutors have been fantastic and you can see how invested they are into bringing new talent into the industry. It's rubbed off on me for sure! This isn't about just getting a job when I leave the Army, it's about starting a new career."
"16 weeks ago I took a chance. A chance to catch up with myself after years of self-doubt and resignation. After years of telling myself that I wouldn't be able to break out of my position in hospitality. Everything has changed since I joined CAPSLOCK. The enthusiasm and support we've been shown for our development. The resources and guidance that have broken down the barriers for many of us... all of that has been phenomenal. Genuinely life-changing.”
"After 11 years working for the NHS, I am happy to share I have been offered a new position as a Cyber Security and Compliance Analyst. 6 short months ago I decided to make the leap with CAPSLOCK to re-skill in cyber and I have not regretted a minute of it. CAPSLOCK stood out from the start: they understand cyber security is all about people, and that the industry needs all kinds. This diversity of thought runs through the program like a stick of rock.”
"A year to the day since I finished my last contract as a professional dancer, I received and signed my first professional contract in cyber security. I couldn’t have done it without the incredible team at CAPSLOCK. The training and company vision is unrivalled, and I would suggest anyone looking to transition in to cyber to check them out."
One of CAPSLOCK's main goals is to help our learners launch brand new careers in the cyber industry, which is why we offer an extensive career support programme as part of our course.
We support our learners in finding a role in the following ways:
No, we don’t guarantee jobs after graduation. The responsibility for landing a new cyber job is ultimately on the individual learner.
At CAPSLOCK, we want our learners to take ownership of their careers and find a role best suited to them. Our careers team supports our learners in their cyber career searches by developing their career management skills.
On average, around 75% of our learners have secured a role in a cyber-related field within six months of graduating from the course.
The cyber security sector continues to grow rapidly with many opportunities available for those new to the industry. CAPSLOCK also continues to develop direct partnerships with UK cyber security employers who actively recruit our learners.
It depends! The field of cyber security is incredibly broad, covering a far greater spectrum of skills and roles than people might expect.
There are roles which are very people-driven, roles which focus heavily on risk and compliance, roles which revolve around tech, and many others.
Some common areas we see for our learners go into include:
Our incredible learners have been landing jobs with a diverse range of employers, including some of the UK’s largest and most well-known companies such as ITV, BT, Jaguar Land Rover, PwC and Asda.

The average starting salary for CAPSLOCK alumni is around £34,400, with an average salary increase of around £11,000 from their previous role.
Our highest paid learner is currently earning £110,000 as a Senior Product Architect.
Cyber starting salaries can vary, and there are several factors which may impact how much you earn in your first role. Regardless of your prior work and life experience, it is entirely possible to land a high-paying first job in cyber.
