As you can probably imagine, we answer questions every day about what CAPSLOCK is and how it works. The nature of our ground-breaking cyber retraining bootcamps means that we get lots of queries about what’s included, who can apply, and how much they cost.

That’s why we’ve put together this Fast Facts post: to answer some of our most frequently asked questions.

1. What is CAPSLOCK?

CAPSLOCK is a revolutionary educational organisation which delivers career-changing cyber training online. We help people re-skill, via a curriculum we built in collaboration with some of the UK’s largest cyber employers.

We teach you the hands-on skills you need to start a new career. Oh, and you don’t pay any tuition fees until you land a high-paying job.

2. Do I need to have any cyber knowledge to apply to CAPSLOCK?

Anyone can apply to CAPSLOCK: prior knowledge of cyber isn’t necessary.

General IT literacy is a good starting point (confident using programs like Word and Excel), and there is a bank of pre-course work material that you will have access to before the course begins, which will allow you to bring yourself up to speed with the basics of cyber.

3. What are your entry requirements?

We’re removing as many barriers as possible for people who genuinely want to retrain in cyber. That’s why our only entry requirements are that you feel confident using a computer, and that you are fully committed to learning new skills to pursue your dream cyber career.

There are no upper age limits (but you must be 18+) and you don’t need cyber knowledge to apply. For now, our courses are only open to UK residents.

4. What is an Income Share Agreement?

An Income Share Agreement (ISA) is a way to take the CAPSLOCK cyber course with no up-front costs. Rather than paying a tuition fee, you simply pay back 15% of your monthly income for 36 months after the course, but only once you are earning over £27,000 a year.

ISAs are not classed as personal debt, they always stay affordable, and re-payments are paused if your income drops below £27,000. You’ll never pay back more than 2x the optional up-front tuition fee of £9,000. That’s an ISA cap of £18,000 as it stands right now.

5. Are there any certifications included?

Yes! If you’re on a CAPSLOCK cyber retraining course, you will have the option to gain 4 well-respected and highly sought-after cyber qualifications alongside your studies. They are:

  • CompTIA Security+
  • ISO 27000 Foundation
  • CISMP
  • CCSK

6. When does the next CAPSLOCK cyber course start?
